Alexandra Muyshondt, Soprano
El Salvadorian-American operatic soprano Alexandra Muyshondt is based in Southern California currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Redlands after completing a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance there in 2024.
At age 14 she performed at Carnegie Hall in an auditioned ensemble conducted by Sally Allbrecht. and was part of the last choir to perform at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris the day before the historic fire.
At the University of Redlands, she is a member of the Chapel Singers directed by Dr. Nicholle Andrews. She has thrived at the Conservatory of Music, most recently performing as Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel and Gretel under the production of Cindy Snyder. She was also the winner of the University of Redlands 2024 President’s Honor Recital (voice) and the most recent winner of the University of Redlands Concerto Competition, as well as winner of the University of Redlands 2024 Performer of the Year Award, and is a two time award finalist for the Kiwanis Music Competition.
Alexandra has recently joined a wonderful group of singers, The Voices of Terpsichor, and is currently performing with them.
In 2024 Alexandra had the unique opportunity to perform a vocal work by composer Gabriela Lena Frank at the 2024 Loewe Symposium and has had the honor to perform at an Opera Master Class where she was scouted for a Young Artist Summer Program in Taos, New Mexico. Her most recent engagement was performing Senza mamma from Giacomo Puccini’s Suor Angelica, and Song to the Moon from Dvořák’s Rusalka with the Redlands Symphony Orchestra, under guest conductor Enluis Manuel Montes Olivar. Alexandra returned to the opera stage as Rosalinda in the University of Redlands’ 2025 performance of Die Fledermaus.
